Diving in a cenote is getting inmerse in crystal-clear water to explore the cavern zone in between geological formations and stunning natural light defects.

Undoubtedly this is an experience that has 
to be lived while visiting Mexico.

Who can dive in the cenotes?
Any certified diver can dive on a cavern. And regardless of the expirence or certification level that you maight have, a profesional guide with no more than 4 divers should be with you at every moment.

Cavern diving requires special techniques and knowladge that can be lean on a cavern on a cave diving course. So in the mid time do not attempt to do this on your own...             Be good, be safe!

Underwater Museums - archeology & history

Marine fauna that lived millions of years ago in the Yucatan Penisnula, as well as extingish pleistosenic Mega fauna who used to shared the territory with the first settlers in America over 15000 years ago, have been found in the Mexican. Naufragios / Barcos hundidos

No todos los naufragios son históricos, sin embargo todos presentan condiciones idóneas para crear hábitats artificiales para el desarrollo de flora y fauna marina.

En Cozumel y la Riviera Maya, existe la posibilidad de bucear en navíos de guerra que fueron hundidos para la creación de Arrecifes Artifíciales.

Los naufragios históricos son tesoros culturales congelados en el tiempo donde los materiales y artefactos que los componen son eslabones importantes para descifrarlos y donde el viaje al verse abruptamente interrumpido ya sea por cuestiones naturales o provocadas, acabo así con esperanzas y sueños ocasionando desgracia y sufrimiento para su tripulación y desolación y desesperanzas para los que se quedaron a la espera de su arribo.

El Banco Chinchorro y el Arrecife Alacranes como en el resto del país, estos recursos culturales están protegidos y son reconocidos como parte importante del patrimonio cultural del país. El visitar estos sitios es como estar en un museo con los elementos arqueológicos que los compone pero con el efecto de la aventura y emoción que detonan el hecho de sumergirse para descubrir en aguas cristalinas los vestigios de algún naufragio que ahora 
comparte el lecho marino 
con peces y corales
multicolores. 

 

Underwater Museums

Underwater explorations in the Peninsula of Yucatan in Mexico have been developing amazing discoveries, some of them talks about the first inhabitants in America that coexist over 14,000 years ago with Pleistocene mega fauna like mammoths, bisons, saber tooth tigers and some others creatures.

Later, the prehispanic Mayas used to throw valued artifacts into the cenotes and even sacrificed people in rites and ceremonies for their gods like goddess Ixchel and god Chac. Now is also known that some cenotes were selected sites for burial as a begining endless life.

Later, the discovery of the New World opens a new era of exploration. The unknowing of the area coupled with the continuous attacks of pirates caused a big number of shipwrecks, especially during the time of discovery and conquest of Mexico.

We are an experience group of Mexican underwater researchers who has been involved in many of these findings around the Mexican Caribbean and the Peninsula of Yucatan which now, and after being studied and published, we are in the possibility to share them with you.
